Stichting Mantelzorg Aruba provides support to the invisible heroes of our island. For Aruba Doet, we are organizing the workshop “Moment for Us.” The client, also called the “ser keri” (loved one), can briefly escape from the daily routine of care. Together with their caregiver, we will offer them a moment to enjoy themselves and forget the daily burden. This is a way for them to truly be together, without everything revolving solely around caregiving.
During this creative and reflective morning, we will take the loved ones on a tour around our beautiful island together with their caregiver. At the end of the morning, we will sit by the sea for a picnic, where each person will paint on a canvas the added value they feel their caregiver brings to their life. The caregiver, in turn, will paint the added value they experience from their “ser keri.”
The purpose of this day is to give one another the appreciation, recognition, and love they deserve, without having to think about their daily caregiving responsibilities, which often prevent them from simply enjoying each other’s company.
