Criteria to participate with ARUBA DOET

CEDE Aruba is organizing on the 15th and 16th of March 2024, in cooperation with the Oranje Fonds, one of the largest volunteer initiatives ARUBA DOET, which is the local version of Koninkrijk DOET. You are in the process of registering your project and need to be made aware of the conditions in order to participate in the DOET days. Please note that when you tick off the box, you agree to the following:

General criteria to participate

Your application must meet all the following conditions:

  1. Your organization is an official foundation, association, or school and has a dedicated bank account;
  2. Your organization is registered with the Chamber of Commerce with the exception of schools;
  3. Your organization does not have a recruiting objective in the statutes or regulations regarding any religion, beliefs, and/or ideology.
  4. The project is within the nature of Aruba Doet: Your organization seeks new volunteers who can help you to get a specific task done on Friday 15th and/or Saturday 16th of March 2024. 
  5. At least half of the volunteers participating in each project must not yet be involved in the organization.
  6. Only one financial support will be granted per address/location.
  7. Your organization is responsible for submitting the financial application. These conditions are listed on the website;
  8. If your organization does not meet all of the above-mentioned criteria, your organization can still participate and recruit volunteers. However, your organization will not be eligible for the financial contribution of Oranje Fonds.

Financial Contribution

Please Note: The costs should be in proportion to the number of volunteers that are needed. It is more likely that the maximum amount will be rewarded for a larger project rather than a smaller project.  At least 10 volunteers are required per project to request the maximum contribution of AWG 1100. At least 5 volunteers that are not affiliated with your organization.

The Oranje Fonds uses an application procedure for the DOET-days. Each project lists one address, your organization can submit a maximum of AWG 1100 per location/address. If your organization is organizing various projects at different locations, fill out a financial application for each location. At all times, you are responsible for the specified information and also with what agree with.

What does the Oranje Fonds Reimburse?

  • Raw materials such as paint, painting materials, equipment, wood, mesh, cleaning materials, materials for fencing, trees, bushes, and small iron materials to build greenhouses and/or gardens;
  • Rental of larger tools and equipment such as ladders, high-pressure cleaners, paper pickers, excavators, shovels, etc.;
  • Food and drinks to keep your ARUBA DOET volunteers going maximum AWG 250.

Exclusively for institutions/organizations that take care of challenged persons and/or the elderly:

  • Costs you made for a day trip, such as transportation and entry fees;
  • Salary of artists, like clowns or singers, hairdressers, stylists, manicures, etc. If your job is a make-over party/spa day: maximum AWG 600.
  • If your activity is a high tea, lunch, or dinner, you can use the entire grant for food and drinks.

What will not be reimbursed by the Oranje Fonds

  • Projects and/or activities that do not meet all criteria;
  • Purchase of pre-built materials, tools, and/or personal items;
  • Presents or activities to thank your staff or regular volunteers;
  • Materials to decorate the location and costs for print or promotional materials;
  • Promotion material and/or prizes for bingo, games, etc.

Deadline

The deadline for your projects and/or financial application(s) is January 22, 2024. After this, the website closes and you will not be able to submit applications.

Please NOTE: As part of the terms, at the end of the DOET days you will need to complete and fill in an evaluation form. Very important to take this into account!

Very important reminder!!

The Oranje Fonds and CEDE Aruba are in no way, shape, or form liable for any damage or accidents during the DOET-days. When planning the project or activity, please take the safety of the volunteers into account and do not take any risks. Preferably leave the technical jobs to the professionals and people with ‘know-how’. Make sure your organization is well insured.
